About Us

Built by Investors. Built for Investors.

ActivePoint Capital was founded on a simple idea: the kind of private lending opportunities that institutions have accessed for decades should be available to the individual investors who have earned them.
For too long, private credit has been a closed room. The returns were strong, the structures were straightforward, and the risk was manageable — but access was reserved for institutions, family offices, and those with the right connections. Individual investors — no matter how much they had built — were left on the outside looking in, limited to mutual funds, public markets, and financial advisors managing portfolios to the middle.
We built ActivePoint to open that door.
Our platform connects accredited individual investors directly with a curated network of vetted institutional borrowers through simple, short-term private lending arrangements. No fund structure. No pooled capital. No complexity. Just a direct lending relationship — with monthly income, hard asset collateral, and capital that stays within reach.
We handle everything in between: the borrower onboarding, the agreement documentation, the interest tracking, the reporting, and the ongoing monitoring. Our participants focus on collecting monthly income. We focus on making sure every arrangement on the platform runs exactly as it should.
We are not the biggest firm in private credit. But we are one of the most focused — and for the individual investor who has spent a lifetime building real capital, we believe that focus matters more than size.

Our Founders

ActivePoint was founded by two capital markets professionals who spent their careers building and operating inside institutional finance — and who saw firsthand how much was being left on the table for individual investors.

Nick Sorensen

Co-Founder

Nick brings deep experience in global capital markets including foreign exchange, market indexes, and institutional trading strategy. Over the course of his career he has built and led companies generating more than $500 million in combined revenue, and has managed both automated and discretionary trading strategies across multiple asset classes and market cycles. Nick leads ActivePoint’s borrower relationships, trading oversight, and platform operations.

He founded ActivePoint because he believed that the structures available to institutional capital — direct lending, hard asset backing, monthly income — could be made simple enough for any accredited investor to participate in without needing a finance degree or an institutional address.

Patrick Van Dusen

Co-Founder
Patrick has spent his career building investment platforms, structuring capital raises, and connecting serious investors with serious opportunities. He has helped raise more than $250 million in capital across multiple investment projects and serves as a partner in several investment vehicles focused on long-term capital strategy and growth. Patrick leads ActivePoint’s investor relations, platform development, and participant experience.
He co-founded ActivePoint because he saw how many qualified individual investors were being underserved — handed portfolios returning 7–9% annually when the structures to do better, safely, already existed. They just weren’t accessible. That’s what ActivePoint changes.

How We Think About This Business.

We run a focused platform. We are selective about the borrowers we work with, deliberate about the structures we offer, and direct with every participant about what this is and what it isn’t.
This is a private lending arrangement. It is not a guaranteed return. It is not risk-free. What it is — when structured correctly, administered carefully, and backed by independently appraised collateral — is one of the most straightforward ways for an accredited individual to generate meaningful monthly income from capital they have already built.

We believe in plain language. We believe in answering every question before anyone signs anything. And we believe that the best participants are informed participants — people who understand exactly what they are in, why the structure works the way it does, and what happens if something doesn’t go as planned.

If that sounds like the kind of firm you want to work with, we’d like to have a conversation.
